Meet Carol Sullivan

Carol began her career as a buyer of women’s clothing for Vogue Stores, The Body Shop, and Bealls. After retiring from retail, she opened a liquor store and gas station in Oxford, Maryland, on the Eastern Shore, where she quickly became a local favorite for selling bait and the community’s favorite items.

Never one to slow down, Carol later opened a seven-day-a-week breakfast, lunch, and dinner restaurant called The Chatterbox, known for its generous portions and great taste—another local favorite.

Eventually, Carol returned to St. Augustine, where she lived along the St. Johns River with her parents. Real estate had always been part of Carol’s life, and she became licensed at age 58—and she’s still going strong today.

Carol built a reputation for listing and selling the off-the-beaten-path river properties when no one else would. Around here, she’s known as the “River Queen.”
